Storms and heavy rain have ripped through large swaths of WA, damaging more than 100 houses and leaving 10,000 homes without power last night.
The storms, which were not related to weakening cyclone Bianca hovering off the WA coast, ripped through Geraldton on Saturday morning and through Northam, York, Beverley, Wongan Hills, Goomalling, Cunderdin and Toodyay.

This villa was one of Albert Kahn's first projects, on Eliot Street in Brush Park. Built in 1893 for the banker William Livingstone, it had to be torn down in 2007.  This house was not only famous for its long tortured decline, it was also renowned as the first commission by the young architect Albert Kahn while working for the George Mason-Zachariah Rice firm.

The Nap Kenbe Project One year ago more than 220,000 men, women, and children lost their lives in an event that united the world in solidarity with the people of Haiti. Now, one year later, the wounds have become scars, the pain has become memory, and the sadness has become hope for and end to the continued suffering of the Haitian people.
