Cemented by dreams - woven dark brickwork texture - under stone-washed sky
Image: Forgotten Detroit - Albert Kahn Villa
This villa was one of Albert Kahn's first projects, on Eliot Street in Brush Park. Built in 1893 for the banker William Livingstone, it had to be torn down in 2007. This house was not only famous for its long tortured decline, it was also renowned as the first commission by the young architect Albert Kahn while working for the George Mason-Zachariah Rice firm.
